Uthiramerur (Tamil: உத்திரமேரூர் Uttiramērūr [ ut ː ɨɾə ˌ ː me ː r ɾu ]; Uttiramerur also ) is a city in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu with almost 24,000 inhabitants ( 2001 census).

Uthiramerur is located approximately 80 kilometers southwest of Chennai (Madras ) in the district of Kanchipuram. The next largest cities are Kanchipuram 28 km north and 29 km east of Chengalpattu. Uthiramerur is the capital of taluks Uthiramerur.

Uthiramerur was founded around 750 by the Pallava king Nandivarman II. In the city there are three major Hindu Temple: The Vishnu consecrated Sundara Varadaraja Perumal Temple, which consecrated Subramanya Murugan Temple and Shiva consecrated Kailasanatha Temple.
