Uthumphon Phisai District

Amphoe Uthumphon Phisai ( in Thai อำเภอ อุทุมพรพิสัย ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the west of the province of Si Saket. The Si Saket province is located in the northeast region of Thailand, the so-called Isaan.

Geography

Amphoe Uthumphon Phisai borders the following districts (from north clockwise): Amphoe Rasi Salai to the, Mueang Si Saket, Wang Hin, Prang Ku, Huai Thap Than, Mueang Chan, Pho Si Suwan and Bueng bun. All Amphoe located in the province of Si Saket.

Economy

In the district as part of the One- Tambon -One Product Initiative ( OTOP ) are a lot of premium products made ​​from cotton and silk made Matmi.

History

The history of the district dates back to Mueang Uthumphon Phisai which 1911 to Amphoe Phachim Sisaket ( อำเภอ ป จิ ม ศี ร์ ษะ เก ษ ) was. In 1913 the name was changed back to Uthomphon Phisai. The Verwaltungsgenbäudse was in Ban Samrong Yai, Tambon Samrong.

Amphoe Uthumphon Phisai is divided into 19 communes ( tambon), which in turn in 232 villages ( Muban ) are divided.

  • Kamphaeng ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล กำแพง ), consisting of parts of the Tambon Kamphaeng,
  • Uthumphon Phisai ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล อุทุมพรพิสัย ), consisting of other parts of the Tambon Kamphaeng,
  • Sa Kamphaeng Yai ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล สระ กำแพง ใหญ่ ), consisting of the whole tambon Sa Kamphaeng Yai
  • Khok Chan ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล โคก จาน ), consisting of the entire Tambon Khok Chan.

There are also 16 " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.
