The University of Utsunomiya (Japanese宇 都 宫 大学, Utsunomiya daigaku in short, Udai (宇 大) ) is a state university in Japan. The main campus is located in Minemachi, Utsunomiya in Tochigi Prefecture.

History

The University of Utsunomiya was founded in 1949 by the merger of three state schools. The three were the agricultural and forestry business school Utsunomiya (宇 都 宫 农林 専 门 学校, Utsunomoya Norin Semmon Gakko, founded in 1922 ), the Normal School Tochigi (栃 木 师范学校, Tochigi shihan Gakko, founded in 1873 ) and the Youth Normal School Tochigi (栃 木 青年 师范学校, Tochigi Gakko his shihan, founded in 1922 ).

The university was opened ( Agricultural Science and Liberal Arts ) with two faculties. In 1964 she founded the Technical Faculty in Yoto Campus ( its predecessor was a state technical university, founded in 1961 ). In 1966, the Faculty of Liberal Arts was renamed the Faculty of Education. In 1994, the Faculty of International Studies was newly established.

The current mine - campus is the former campus of the agricultural and forestry business school Utsunomiya. She was one of the few schools that had the course of Agricultural Economics.
