Utva Trojka

The Utva C-3 troika was a trainer aircraft of the Yugoslav manufacturer Utva.

History and construction

The Utva C-3 Troika was a light training aircraft, which was shortly after the Second World War as a result of a competition which was organized by the Government to equip flying club with a built in country aircraft developed in Yugoslavia. The winning design was submitted by Boris Cijan and Dragoslav Petkovic, and the prototype was built by Icarus Icarus 251. However, the series production C-3 took place under the designation at Utva. The aircraft was a conventional low-wing monoplane with fixed spur wheel chassis. Teachers and students sat side by side in an enclosed cabin with sliding roof. The model was produced until the mid-1950s.
