UWE-2
UWE -2 ( University of Würzburg, Experimental Satellite 2 ) is by UWE- 1, the second experimental satellite built by students of the University of Würzburg.
History
The satellite is a cube with side length of 10 cm and 1 kg mass. On 23 September 2009 he was an Indian PSLV rocket ( PSLV - C14) together with OceanSat -2 and three CubeSats transported in a polar orbit at 730 km altitude and put into operation. For some time now sends UWE -2 no more signals to Earth. As successor was launched on November 21, 2013 UWE -3.
Tasks
His scientific objectives are
- Tests for methods and algorithms for attitude determination,
- Optimization of parameters to adapt Internet protocols to space conditions.
Therefore, the satellite including a GPS receiver, as well as solar, magnetic and inertial sensors on board. Data transmission to the earth occurs at the frequency of 437.385 MHz.
