Uwe Blab

Uwe Blab ( born March 26, 1962 in Munich) is a German former professional basketball player. He was one of the first German player in the U.S. professional basketball league NBA. Because of his red hair and impressive size of 2.16 m, it was nicknamed "Burning Skyscraper ".

As the son of a lawyer with 15 years Blab was discovered by a U.S. team and taken as an exchange student to the United States. There, he graduated from Effingham High School and Indiana University, for their team, he acted on the center position.

Blab was drafted in 1985 to 17th place with a lot of advance praise and high expectations next Detlef Schrempf of the Dallas Mavericks. This, however, he never was able to meet, which is why he moved to Dallas 4 years in his final year to the Golden State Warriors before he was traded from these to the San Antonio Spurs.

After he finished his NBA career and joined the club Basket Naples to Italy. In 1991 he signed with Alba Berlin, where he ended his career in 1993.

Twice Blab took part in the Olympic Games, in 1984 in Los Angeles and 1992 in Barcelona.

Then moved to Blab to Texas, where he lives with his wife and children on a ranch and has worked professionally as a software developer. Blab lost in January 2010, one of his sons in a fight in a college in San Marcos, Texas, as the 19 -year-old uninvolved got into this.
