Uwe Fuchs

Uwe Fuchs ( born July 23, 1966 in Kaiserslautern ) is a former German football coach and football player.

Career

Uwe Fuchs, who comes from a footballing family - his father Fritz Fuchs and his uncle Werner Fuchs were themselves active as a player and coach - proved during his playing career as a migratory bird, where his career was also accompanied by many injuries. All the more surprising is the fact that he spent still in the 1st Bundesliga most years.

In his last Bundesliga station, Arminia Bielefeld, Uwe Fuchs reach over two years only 25 missions and four goals. However, he scored two of them on 2 May 1998 against his former club FC Cologne 1. Fuchs, who had come for the fixed relegated Arminia only for the second half for Stefan Kuntz, thus a 0:1 turned into a 2-1 shot and Cologne de facto to the 2nd Bundesliga.

On 6 January 2005, he took over as coach at Wuppertal SV Borussia (Regionalliga North). With the club he reached in the 2004/2005 season in fifth place in the table, in the following season after a poor season so far still a respectable eighth place.

On April 22, 2007 Fuchs was suspended as coach of Wuppertal SV despite only three points off a promotion place. But he complained before the Labour Court Wuppertal back on the coach chair and obtained an injunction that declared his leave of absence was inadmissible. Fox, however, was satisfied with his salary until the end of his actual contract and left the club.

Since October 2007, Fox was the coach of VfB Lübeck and replaced so Uwe Erkenbrecher. This was suspended in mid-October after poor performances in the first half of the season 2007/2008 with immediate effect. Fox was in turn replaced in 2008 by Hans -Peter Schubert July 1.
