Uwe Kamps

Uwe Kamps ( born June 12, 1964 in Dusseldorf ) is a former German football goalkeeper and current goalkeeping coach.

Career

Club career

Uwe Kamps, born in Düsseldorf, played in the youth at SV 04 versts, then at BV 04 Dusseldorf before moving to Borussia Mönchengladbach.

Between 1982 and 2004 he was a goalkeeper for Borussia Mönchengladbach under contract. He came up with 390 appearances in the Bundesliga. After 1992 with the Borussia in the final of the DFB Cup in Hannover failed 96, 1995, he was part of the team that was with a 3-0 over Wolfsburg DFB Cup winner. His last assignment as Active Kamps had the last game of Borussia on the Bökelberg, where he came on towards the end of the game for Jörg Stiel. On 22 March 2005 Kamps was together with many prominent friends and former teammates at Borussia Park in Mönchengladbach his farewell game in which he scored a goal.

After his playing career Kamps was goalkeeping coach at Borussia Moenchengladbach. In his time the main goalkeeper of Mönchengladbach, Marc -Andre ter Stegen was, in 2011 National player.

Internationally

Kamps 1988 won the Olympic team of the Federal Republic under coach Hannes Löhr the bronze medal at the Olympic Games in Seoul.

Curiosities
