Uwe Neupert

Uwe Neupert (* August 5, 1957 in Greiz ) is a former German wrestler.

Career

Uwe Neupert grew up in Greiz and started at the local traditional power sports club with the rings. As a 16 - year-old he was talent scouts on the SC Motor Jena and was brought to this power center. His first coach was Peter Gründig. Later he trained under Wolfgang Nitschke mainly. The talented Uwe, who graduated from a motor-vehicle locksmith teaching, made ​​rapid progress and was founded in 1975 Spartakiadesieger ( GDR youth champion) and 1976 silver medalist at the Junior World Cup. From this time he wrestled for thirteen years with great success at the Olympic Games, World and European Championships.
