Uwe Sauer

Uwe Sauer ( born August 30, 1943 in Hamburg ) is a former dressage rider from the Federal Republic of Germany, the 1984 Olympic champion.

Career

Uwe Sauer occupied with pastoral dream in 1978 at the German Championship in second place behind Reiner Klimke. In 1979, he reached in the individual standings to sixth place at the European Championships in Aarhus, but did not belong to the German team that won the title in the team's decision. Sauer and pastoral dream belonged to the squad for the Olympic Games in 1980, but could not compete in Moscow because of the boycott of the German Olympic team. When replacement event at the Goodwood Sauer finished fourth in the individual competition and won with the German team.

1983 Sauer came with his new horse to Montevideo at the European Championships in Aachen. In the individual competition he finished in third place behind the Dane Anne Grethe Jensen and Reiner Klimke. In the team competition the German team won by Reiner Klimke, Uwe Sauer, Uwe Schulten- Baumer and Herbert Krug before the Danish team. 1984 Sauer and occupied Montevideo behind Reiner Klimke second place in the German Championship. At the Olympic Games in 1984 Sauer took a shared sixth place in the individual standings, along with Reiner Klimke and Herbert Krug he won the team classification. After Sauer and Montevideo had in 1985 again took second place behind Reiner Klimke at the German Championship, they also belonged to the German squad at the European Championships in Copenhagen. Klimke and sour won zusammenmit Tilmann Meyer and Uwe Schulten -Baumer Erpen the team title.

Uwe Sauer started for the Hamburg- Wentorfer riding club, he runs a horse farm in Seeth - Ekholt.
