Uwe Schwenker ( born March 24, 1959 in Bremen ) is a former German handball player and was until early April 2009 Managing Director of THW Kiel Handball - Bundesliga GmbH & Co. KG.

Career

As a player

Uwe Schwenker played in his first youth football at Werder Bremen. For Handball he came by his father Hinrich Schwenker, one of the most successful German handball player of the 1950s and 1960s, who needed a left winger for a tournament as national coach. When he had to give up due to a foot injury playing football, Camera concentrated on the handball. From 1978, he is played with the TV Grambke -Bremen in the Handball Bundesliga. In 1980 he then moved to Kiel. For the THW he played until 1992, over 282 Bundesliga games in which he scored 1265 goals, of which 358 are seven meters. In the eternal scorer in the Bundesliga he is with 1346/361 gates on the 22nd place. From 1987 to 1992 he was the successor of Dierk Bernese captain of THW Kiel. In his playing days he wore Mister counter-attack because of its fast pace counter-attacks the nickname.

For the German national team, with whom he won the silver medal at the 1984 Olympic Games, Cameraman played 72 A- international matches, where he 164 goals - 17 of them by seven meters - achieved.

As a manager

1992 Handball Bundesliga Team of the THW Kiel was spun off from the rest of the club. Uwe Schwenker was Managing Director of established for this purpose THW Kiel Handball - Bundesliga Verwaltungs GmbH. In the 1992/93 season, he took over as coach for eleven games after Holger Oertel had resigned after 15:21 defeat against eventual relegation HC Empor Rostock.

As a new coach Swivel committed for the season 1993/94 Zvonimir " Noka " Serdarušić, with whom he had played in 1980/81 together for the THW - against the resistance of longtime league umpire Heinz Jacobsen. Thus the rise of THW Kiel began a European top club. Over the next 15 years, the team won 25 national and international titles, including 2007, the triple by winning Championship, DHB Cup and Champions League. In summer 2008, the Treaty of Serdarusišić was disbanded after he and Schwenker had a falling out because of their women. As the successor Alfreð Gíslason was committed.

In March 2009, allegations were raised that swivel and Serdarušić in the Champions League final had bribed the referee in 2007 against the SG Flensburg -Handewitt. As a result, put swivel on 7 April 2009 the Office of the THW manager down. His permanent contract was canceled by mutual agreement of 30 June 2009 without compensation.

On January 26, 2012 Schwenker was acquitted by the Landgericht Kiel on all counts. On appeal by the Public Prosecutor of the Federal Court reversed the judgment on November 28, 2012 in part and referred the case back to the court of origin. He was also acquitted from the remaining accusation of infidelity by judgment of the Landgericht Kiel on 10 April 2013.

Since August 20, 2013 Schwenker is a consultant at second division HC Empor Rostock.

Others

Swivel is married to his second wife since 7 September 2012. He has a daughter from his first marriage. In addition to his hand clench step he runs an insurance agency and a sports marketing company.
