Uwe Zimmermann

Uwe " Zimbo " Zimmermann ( born February 11, 1962 in Kronau ) is a former German football goalkeeper.

Zimmermann began as a youth player at VfR Kronau and changed the age of sixteen to SV Waldhof Mannheim, with its A- youth team in 1980 he won the German championship. In the 1982/83 season he replaced former goalkeeper Walter Pradt, who had suffered a serious injury. This position had Zimmermann holds up to season 1989/90, which he almost completely missed due to injury. His 215 games for Mannheim mean today Bundesliga record for the club. This was followed by switching to SC Fortuna Köln and VfL Wolfsburg, with his promotion to the Bundesliga in 1997. After the change in 1999 to Eintracht Braunschweig, he was able to celebrate promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga.

Uwe Zimmermann finished 2002 at the age of 40 years, his career as a player and later became goalkeeping coach at LR Ahlen. Since early January 2007, Zimmermann was held this position for Sportfreunde Siegen. In 2013 he became coach of the Learner Niederschelden.
