Uzbekistan Airways ( Uzbek: Ozbekiston havo yollari ) is an Uzbek airline based in Tashkent.

History

The creation of Uzbekistan Airways was taken shortly after the collapse of the Soviet Union in start-up. Finally, the approval was granted on 28 January 1992 and then the young airline could act as an international airline. As the host you chose the country's largest city and the capital of Uzbekistan, Tashkent.

The first scheduled flight of Uzbekistan Airways resulted from Tashkent to London in the UK. More regular flights were included in this year on routes from Tashkent to Karachi ( Pakistan), New Delhi ( India), Kuala Lumpur ( Malaysia), Tel Aviv (Israel ) and Beijing (China).

In 1993 the company took its first brand-new aircraft. These were for a long-range Airbus A310, which was used on the newly added connections from Tashkent to Frankfurt and Bangkok. As the first airline in the CIS, the Uzbekistan Airways also in 1993 received the European quality certificate. In 1994 another factory new Airbus A310, with which one could add new scheduled flights to Athens, Manchester and Seoul in the flight plan. In 1995 the route network was supplemented by additional scheduled flights to Bahrain and New York. 1996 also launched a first Boeing 767 fleet.

In 1997, Uzbekistan Airways received the diploma and qualification certificate JAR -145 international aviation safety, which enables the company and allows to perform C-checks.

In 1998, the fleet of Uzbekistan Airways Park was completed by another and then third Airbus A310, which enabled the opening of new scheduled flights to Paris and Dakar. In the following years the route network was again greatly expanded. So they took Kiev in 1999 and Riyadh in the flight plan, as first charter flights to Japan. In 2000 the route network to Rome and Birmingham was completed in 2001, finally, a primarily Japanese flight to Osaka was established.

In parallel, a separate maintenance area has been built in cooperation with " Lufthansa Technik ", who acted as " Uzbekistan Airways Technics " since 2002 over the years. One of the first works was a C-check on a Boeing 757

Furthermore, the airline was expanding. In 2003 another Boeing 767 -300ER was purchased and added international flights to Hanoi. In the same year the home Tashkent Airport was awarded " Best Airport of CIS Countries in 2003 ". 2004, the fleet was supplemented by a new model of the Boeing 767 -300ER series and three Boeing 757-200. Flights to Riga, Shanghai and Astana were taken.

2005 Uzbekistan Airways Boeing received the "Safety Foundation Diploma " and the " Recognition Award " for 10 years of safe and reliable flying machines of the manufacturer Boeing. Sixteen Boeing 767-300, Boeing 757-200, Airbus A310 and RJ -85 are now in use. 2006 also a scheduled flight to Urumqi was set up.

2008 Uzbekistan Airways announced to join the SkyTeam alliance. The project was meant to be completed in 2009, but was postponed and is currently still vacant.
