Uzdowo

Uzdowo [ uzdɔvɔ ] ( German: Usdau ) is a town in the municipality Działdowo in Poland. It is located 15 km north- west of the city Działdowo ( Soldau ) and belongs to the powiat Działdowski, Warmian -Masurian on.

History

The place was almost completely destroyed during the Battle of Tannenberg battle of the Usdau on 27 August 1914. Still in the First World War began the reconstruction.

1920 was the place without a referendum by the Treaty of Versailles in Poland. After the beginning of World War II, he was a member from October 26, 1939 for a short time for newly created district Soldau and from April 24, 1940 again, as has been to 1920, the district Neidenburg. In January 1945 it was conquered by the Soviet troops. Following Usdau came back to Poland.

A church existed in Usdau already in pre-Reformation period. For parish also included the locations Crämersdorf, Meischlitz, wholesale Tauersee, Schönkau.
