The Užice Stadium (Serbian: Стадион Ужице, Stadium Užice ) is a football stadium with track and field facility in the Serbian city of Užice. The venue is also known under the name Stadium 24 Septembar or Sloboda Stadium. It is the home of the football club Sloboda Užice. The name means Sloboda on German freedom.

History

Before the official opening game took place on June 9, 1946 for test match between Sloboda Užice and Slavija Sarajevo. The stadium was officially opened on September 24, 1946 with a friendly match between the home team and Partizan, which ended 0:6. On the same day a year earlier freed the partisans Užice of the occupation by the Wehrmacht, so this date has been selected. The attendance record was set in 1967. In the Yugoslav Football Cup was Red Star Belgrade opponents of the home side in front of 18,000 spectators. The game ended with a 1:2 for the Belgrade. A first renovation took place in 1980.

After renovation work between September 2010 and August 2011, the stadium is currently offering 12,000 seats. The first meeting after the change took place on August 21, 2011. Opponents Partizan was defeated 2-1. On July 26, 2013 it was announced that the stadium will be the first time equipped with floodlights. The first game under the lights was the game of Matchday 5 of the Super League on September 14, 2013 was also against Partizan.
