Užusaliai

Užusaliai is a village with 844 inhabitants in the Rajongemeinde Jonava in Lithuania, on the railroad Kaunas Jonava, 25 km north-east of Kaunas, 19 km from Jonava, 5 km from Išorai. It is the center of the district of Užusaliai and sub- district office. There is a secondary school, library, post office (LT- 55044 ), cultural center, church, cemetery, parish.

Geography

Through the village the Šešuva and its tributary flows the Pravarta. To Užusaliai there are many forests and a Moor, as well as the reservoir Užusaliai.

History

1744 was mentioned. During the uprising in 1863 burned the houses, the inhabitants were deported and expelled. Instead of those here might the Russians down and the village in Aleksandrovskaja sloboda renamed in honor of Alexander Nevsky Yaroslavich ( 1220-1263 ). Here the church, the school was built in 1866 with some towers, furnished. Užusaliai became the maskolischen church village.

1923 there were 70 houses and 488 inhabitants. 1941 German soldiers killed 48 people. In Soviet times, you founded the Center of the kolkhoz " New Life ". It later became the central settlement of the state farms Kalnėnai, here you can set up a Soviet museum.

2012, the coat of arms was confirmed by the Lithuanian President.
