V. T. Hamlin

Vincent Trout Hamlin ( born May 10, 1900 in Perry, Iowa, † June 14, 1993 in Brooksville, Florida) was an American comic book artist and cartoonist.

Life and work

Hamlin served during the First World War, the age of seventeen in France in the U.S. Army. After his return, he graduated from high school on, then studied journalism and became a reporter in Iowa. After moving to Texas Hamlin has worked for several newspapers as a reporter, photographer and cartoonist. In 1932 he launched the Stone Age Series Alley Oop, he worked as daily strip until 1971, before he handed it over to his assistant Dave Graue.
