Vada (food)

Vada (also: Wada, Vade, vadai or Bara called ) is a snack that is eaten in South India and Sri Lanka.

The Vada essentially consist of lentils, chickpeas, potatoes or black grams and onions and other flavoring ingredients. The mass is formed into donut shape or as a small cake and then deep fried.

The Vada be sold at street stalls, markets, railway stations and in trains and mostly eaten with chutney or sambar.
