Vaitheeswarankoil (Tamil: வைத்தீஸ்வரன்கோவில் Vaittīsvarankōvil [ ʋai̯t̪i ː ˌ ko ː sʋərən ʋil ], also Vaithisvarankoil ) or Pullirukkuvelur (Tamil: புள்ளிருக்குவேளூர் Puḷḷirukkuvēḷūr [ ˌ ː puɭ irɯk ː ː ɯʋe ɭu ː r] ) is a city in the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu. The population is 7,522 ( 2001 census).

Vaitheeswarankoil belongs to the district of Nagapattinam and is located in the northern part of the Cauvery Delta, eight kilometers southwest of the city Sirkazhi. Situated on the main route from Chennai to Tiruchirappalli, Vaitheeswarankoil has good rail links

Vaitheeswarankoil is the location of the major Hindu Vaitheeswaran or Vaidyanatha Temple. The four and a half acre sanctuary has a temple pond and four gopurams ( gateway towers ). In the temple of the god Shiva Vaitheeswarankoil is revered as a divine healer Vaitheeswaran ( Vaidyanatha ). According to the Shiva faith to heal itself incurable diseases here. Therefore Vaitheeswarankoil is a popular pilgrimage site for people who suffer from diseases. In addition, the temple has a shrine for Angaraka ( Budha ), the personified planet Mars. This Vaitheeswarankoil is one of the Navagraha temples, a group of nine temples in the Kaveri Delta, the celestial bodies ( Navagrahas ) are dedicated.
