Vakhtang II of Georgia

Vakhtang II (Georgian ვახტანგ II, † 1292 ) was from 1289 to 1292 King of Georgia. He was the son of David VI. Narin.

Life

After the death of Dimitri II actually had his eldest son David to succeed. This had followed his father into the tray of the Il- Khan Arghun (1284-1291) and had witnessed his violent death. But the Mongols translated captured him and sent a delegation headed Qutlughschahs Mankaberdeli to the court of King David VI. Narin of West Georgia ( 1259-1293 ). To West Georgia ( Abkhazia Imereti ) more firmly to themselves, they offered the oldest son of David to inherit the crown Eastern Georgia.
