Valdesamario

Valdesamario is a town in the northwestern central Spain in the province of León in the autonomous community of Castile -Leon with 219 inhabitants ( 2013).

Location

The village lies on the Rio Omañas, about 20km west of the Autovia de la Plata. After Léon in the southeast there are 40, according to Oviedo in the north about 60km.

History

The first written reference to Valdesamario can be found in a document of the Cathedral of Astorga from the year 1048. Valdesamario From 1800 to 1825 belonged to the jurisdiction of La Cepeda.

Economy

The town and the surrounding area is rural. Around the place vegetables are grown predominantly.
