Valdobbiadene
The municipality lies Valdobbiadene in Northern Italy in the Veneto region in the province of Treviso. It has 10,630 inhabitants (as of 31 December 2012) and is 254 m slm.
The neighboring municipalities are Alano di Piave (BL), Farra di Soligo, Lentiai (BL ), Mel (BL), Miane, Pederobba, Segusino, Vas (BL) and Vidor.
Wine
The place is, as all the Veneto region, known for its vineyards. Especially the Glera grapes have been grown here for the production of sparkling wine.
The " Prosecco di Valdobbiadene " is characterized by good quality and excellent taste.
Since 1 August 2009, there are only two types of Prosecco:
- Prosecco DOC (formerly IGT ) is prepared in the following provinces of Veneto and Friuli:
Treviso, Trieste, Gorizia, Belluno, Padua, Venice, Vicenza, Udine and Pordenone.
