Valdon Dowiyogo

Valdon Capes Dowiyogo ( born August 31, 1968 in Nauru ) is a nauruischer Australian football player and was until 1999 President of Nauru Australian Football Association ( NAFA ). He is also director of the post offices in Nauru and Vice President of Nauru golf clubs. He is the son of former Head of State Bernard Dowiyogo.

He received after primary education in Nauru and Tullamarine a secondary education in Australian Hamilton, Victoria on Monivae College where he also played football. Previously, he played in the U14 and U16 team of Tullamarine Football Club. He was vice-captain of the 1984 U16 and won the award for the best player of the club. In 1987 he returned to Nauru and is in the national championship active since 1988.

Dowiyogo in 1995, with the national team at the Arafura Games in Darwin in part. Today plays in the national championship for the Ubenited Power.

In the parliamentary elections held in May 2003, he stood for his constituency Ubenide on as a candidate. He missed his brother, Jesaulenko Dowiyogo, just enter parliament after Yaren. In the early elections in 2004.html">October 2004, however, Dowiyogo reached the fourth place in the constituency Ubenide and was thus elected MPs. His brother did not come here as a candidate.

December 21, 2004 Dowiyogo was elected as the new parliamentary speaker, as successor to the late Vassal Gadoengin. On 28 August 2007, he was confirmed in office. 2013 he was health and transport minister.
