Valdosta State University

The Valdosta State University ( VSU also called ) is located in the south of the state, a state university in Valdosta in the U.S. state of Georgia. It is part of the University System of Georgia. The college was established in 1906. Currently here are enrolled 10,888 students.

History

The Valdosta State University was founded in 1906, but took until 1913 and teaching started (only for women), then known as South Georgia State Normal College. In 1922 she was renamed Georgia State Woman's College at Valdosta. In 1950 she was renamed Valdosta State College and is recognized as a regional university since 1993. Since 1998, she is known by her current name. In the same year they also introduced the semester system of the University System of Georgia.

Sports

The sports teams of the Valdostat State University are the Blazers. The university is a member of the Gulf South Conference ( Eastern Division ).
