History
The fertile valley ( Portuguese: Vale ) was since prehistoric times, the settlement area of man. The first officially documented record comes from a deed of King Ordonho II from the year 922 in the course of time the circle led by different names so Caymbra, Santa Maria de Caymbra, Câmara do Bispo de Coimbra, Cambra and finally Macieira de Cambra. He belonged to the diocese of Mérida, and came in the wake of the independent Kingdom of Portugal Konsilidierung after 1139 to the diocese of Coimbra.

The Wallburg archaeological site Castro do Chão de Carvalho is on 804 meters above sea level, at the site since Maciço Gralheira, in the municipality Arões. It is attributed to the Castro culture.
In the Cultural Centro Cultural of Vale de Cambra variety of events take place, such as concerts and dance performances. In a 1760 built granite stone house of the community Cepelos viewed Casa also houses the Museum Núcleo Museológico da da Tulha, a branch of the City Museum Museu Municipal de Vale de Cambra.
