Valeille

Valeille is a commune with 668 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the Loire department in the Rhône -Alpes.

Geography

Valeille lies about 6 km southeast of the small town Feurs on the connecting line between Lyon and Clermont- Ferrand. The municipality is situated on the edge of the Montagnes du Matin in by forests and valleys landscape which opens towards the west of the Loire Valley. In the territory of the municipality there are a total of nine ponds.

History

The place was first mentioned in the 10th century and was in the Middle Ages the county of Forez bailiwick.
