Valencia's Aquarium

The aquarium Valencia is an aquarium and zoo in Valencia ( Venezuela) with the largest aquarium show in Latin America.

In this aquarium has the only domesticated Amazon dolphins in the world. There are also numerous species of fish, snakes and other animals and plants of Venezuela.

Aquarium

In the actual aquarium there are many species of fish in Venezuela. Among others, one can see eels, Sägesalmler, catfish and piranhas.

Terrarium

Here you can, inter alia, native turtles, spiders, observe frogs.

Serpentarium

Here, many snakes that are native to Venezuela, see: anacondas, boas constrictor, different types of Bothrops etc.

Zoo

At the zoo there are many of the animals of Venezuela, such as tapirs, monkeys many places, crocodile caimans, ocelots, jaguars and cougars.

Dolphin show

There is a very popular show with Amazon dolphins.

History

The aquarium Valencia was built on systems of the former aqueduct of Valencia. The construction of these facilities began in 1886 when General Antonio Guzmán Blanco was President. It was the first aqueduct Valencia. A year later it was completed.

1955 a new aqueduct was opened and these plants were abandoned. 1970 took Dr. Juan Vicente Seijas the initiative to use the equipment again and build the aquarium. On 21 December 1975, a first exhibition was opened. Seijas suggested in private and public institutions to promote this project.
