Valentin Adamberger

Johann Valentin Adam Berger ( born July 6, 1743 tube in Lower Bavaria; † August 24, 1804 in Vienna ) was a German opera singer in the vocal range Tenor.

Valentin Adam Berger, also known as the Italian translation of his name Adamonti, was a pupil of Johann Hauser Walle. He started his singing career from 1760 in Bavaria and sang from 1762 onwards in various theaters and opera houses in Italy. Around 1777 he returned to Munich. After an engagement in London he moved to the Freihaustheater auf der Wieden and the Burgtheater in Vienna, where he showed great success. There he joined the Masonic Lodge in 1784 to newly crowned Hope. His singing perfect proficiency impressed even Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, who wrote some pieces specifically for him, including the aria Per pieta, non Ricercate (KV 420) and Misero! o sogno! / Aura, che intorno (K. 425b ).

1782 was Adam Berger, the first performer of " Belmonte " in Mozart's Abduction from the Seraglio and 1786 the first " Mr. Vogelsang " in Mozart's Impresario.

He was married to Maria Anna, born Adam Berger Jaquet (1752-1804), an Austrian comedy actress. Both daughter was Antonie Adam Berger, the bride of Theodor Körner and afterwards became wife of archaeologist Joseph Arneth.
