Valentina Serova

Valentina Serova Wassiljewna (Russian Валентина Васильевна Серова, scientific transliteration Valentina Serova Vasil'evna; born December 23, 1917 in Kharkiv, † December 12, 1975 in Moscow) was a Soviet film and theater actress.

Life

Valentina Serova was born in 1917 as Valentina Polowikowa ( Валентина Половикова ).

In 1938 she married her first husband Anatoli Serov, a test pilot and brigade commander of the Soviet Air Force. 1939, Serov, however, during a test flight with a new aircraft lost their lives. In the same year made ​​her film "Girl with character " (Russian Девушка с характером ) great success and was thus one of the biggest movie stars of the time in the Soviet Union.

In 1940 she met Konstantin Simonov, a famous Russian author, whom she then married in 1943. She inspired Simonov to a series of love poems, under the title " С тобой и без тебя " ( With you and without you) were published in 1942.
