Valentina Serova
Valentina Serova Wassiljewna (Russian Валентина Васильевна Серова, scientific transliteration Valentina Serova Vasil'evna; born December 23, 1917 in Kharkiv, † December 12, 1975 in Moscow) was a Soviet film and theater actress.
Life
Valentina Serova was born in 1917 as Valentina Polowikowa ( Валентина Половикова ).
In 1938 she married her first husband Anatoli Serov, a test pilot and brigade commander of the Soviet Air Force. 1939, Serov, however, during a test flight with a new aircraft lost their lives. In the same year made her film "Girl with character " (Russian Девушка с характером ) great success and was thus one of the biggest movie stars of the time in the Soviet Union.
In 1940 she met Konstantin Simonov, a famous Russian author, whom she then married in 1943. She inspired Simonov to a series of love poems, under the title " С тобой и без тебя " ( With you and without you) were published in 1942. The love and war are known poem " Wait for me " and the film of the same to the Simonov wrote the screenplay. Their marriage was not easy and was tasked, among others, by the public love affair with Marshal Konstantin Rokossovsky Serowas ( 1942-1946 ). 1957 Simonov left her.
Serova occurred after the 1940s only sporadically in films. In 1975, she died in Moscow.
