Valentine de Saint-Point

Valentine de Saint-Point (actually Anna Jeanne Valentine Marianne de Desglans Cessiat - vercell; * 1875 in Lyon, † 1953 in Cairo, called also temporarily Rawhiya Nour - ed- Dine) was a French poet of Futurism.

Life

Valentine de Saint-Point -operated initially as a poet and novelist. A major concern of her work is to present a modern image of the woman was - but she refused to feminism chose from. In the 1910s she joined as a woman of the Futurist movement, trying to achieve their goals through the revolutionizing of theater and dance. In 1924 she moved to Egypt, took the name " Rawhiya Nour - ed- Dine" ( = fanatic of the light of faith ) and supported the Muslims in the struggle against European imperialism. She died in 1953 in Cairo.
