Valentine Moghadam

Valentine M. Moghadam ( born 1952 in Tehran ) is an Iranian-American sociologist and feminist.

Moghadam studied in Canada and in the U.S. sociology. Subsequently, she received her doctorate in 1986 at the American University in Washington, DC.

She was until June 2005 Professor of Sociology at Illinois State University. The focus of her work were there gender and global economy, Women and Social Change in the Muslim world.

Valentine Moghadam has written numerous books on the Iranian feminism, but also about feminism in other Islamic countries.
