Valeri Pokrovsky

Valery Alexandrovich Pokrovsky (Russian Валерий Александрович Покровский; born May 17, 1978 in Sverdlovsk, Russian SFSR ) is a Russian ice hockey player, who was last at HK Spartak Moscow in the Kontinental Hockey League contract.

Career

Valery Pokrovsky began his career as a hockey player in the junior department of Awtomobilist Yekaterinburg. In the senior level, he ran for the first time on the first team SKA St. Petersburg, for which he was active from 1997 to 2001 in the Russian Super League. In the following two years, the defender joined the club several times and stood in the Super League Mechel Chelyabinsk at HK, HK Avangard Omsk and HK CSKA Moscow under contract.

From 2003 to 2008 Pokrovsky played again for his former club SKA St. Petersburg in the Super League. The 2008/09 season he began in Saint Petersburg, which had been incorporated into the newly formed Continental Hockey League. In this he gave one assist in two games before he spent the next year and a half in the Russian capital at HK Spartak Moscow. For the season 2010/11 the Russian was hired by the League rival Amur Khabarovsk. A year later, Pokrovsky joined the HK Sibir Novosibirsk, before he returned in December 2011 to Spartak Moscow.
