Valeriu Gagiu

Valeriu Gagiu (also Valeriu Gajiu; Russian Валериу Георгиевич Гажиу / Waleriu Georgijewitsch Gaschiu; born May 1, 1938 in Chisinau, † December 21, 2010 ) was a Soviet- Moldovan director, film producer and screenwriter.

Life

After his graduation in 1956, he first attended the Pedagogical Institute in his hometown Moldova Kishinev before 1957 at the Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography in Moscow enrolled. His studies there he joined in 1963, the same year his first short film was released, Ulitsa sluschajet ( The road ends with ). In 1961 he had worked on the screenplay by Tschelobek idjot sa solnzem, 1966 appeared with Gorkije sjorna his own first film in which he both wrote the screenplay, and directed by. Then took Gagiu in numerous other films directed and wrote screenplays, so about 1980 in Where are you, love? Sofija Rotaru with in the lead role. 2010 died Gagiu 72 -year-old in his hometown. In the same year he was awarded the People's Artist of the newly independent Moldova.
