Valerius Valens

Aurelius Valerius Valens († 316/317 ) was 316 or 316/317 co-emperor of the Roman emperor Licinius.

Valens had previously been dux limitis as responsible for border security in the Roman province of Dacia. After his defeat at the Battle of Cibalae Licinius went to Dacia and elevated him to co-emperor. In the literary tradition he is indeed described as Caesar, ie.
