Valle Department

Valle is one of the 18 departments in Honduras in Central America. Translated, the Spanish name of the department simply "Valley ".

Capital of the department is the city nacaome. Valle is located on the Gulf of Fonseca, and has an external border with El Salvador. For the department includes several offshore islets in the Gulf of Fonseca.

The department was founded in 1893 by a split from the department of Choluteca.
