Valley Falls is a village in Rensselaer County, New York in the United States. In 2010, Valley Falls had 466 inhabitants. The Village is situated on both banks of the Hoosic River and therefore be in the Town of Pittstown and the other, to a lesser extent north of the river in the Town of Schaghticoke.

History

Built in 1871 by industrialist James Thompson in Valley Falls, a textile mill. Almost all the inhabitants of the village were working in the operation, which reached its economic peak in the 1970s and then experienced decades of decline. When the plant went up in the early morning hours of April 22, 2009 in flames, it was already closed down for at least ten years.
