The Valme is a 19.7 km long, orographic left tributary of the Ruhr in North Rhine-Westphalia Hochsauerlandkreis, Germany.

Geography

The Valme rises above the wet meadow on the north flank of the Hunau on a 775 m above sea level. NN. From here it flows primarily to the north, happened while the villages Obervalme, islets, and Ramsbeck Heringhausen before. Bestwig to 291 m above sea NN left side opens into the Ruhr.

On its 19.7 km long road which Valme overcomes a difference in altitude of 484 m, corresponding to an average bed slope of 24.6 ‰. It drains a 62.722 km ² large above-ground catchment area over the Ruhr and Rhine to the North Sea.

Tributaries

The Valme flow to numerous, sometimes very short streams from the slopes of the surrounding mountains. The most important tributary is the Brabecke with a length of 13.6 km. With its 32.439 km ² large catchment area the Brabecke has more than 50 % share of the the Valme. The following are the tributaries of the Valme be called.
