Valozhyn

Waloschyn (White Russian Валожын ) is a city in Belarus in Minsk Woblasz and capital of Rajon Waloschyn. Waloschyn counted 11,100 inhabitants in 2009. 1931, the city had 5600 inhabitants, mostly Jews. The number of Jews just before the German invasion is estimated at around 3000. They were murdered in three "actions".

Waloschyn was founded known for its early 19th century yeshiva Waloschyn ( Talmudic school ).
