Valter Birsa

Valter Birsa ( born August 7, 1986 in Šempeter pri Gorici, Nova Gorica ) is a Slovenian football player.

Career

Birsas career began at the age of five, when he played for NK Bilje, a small football club near Nova Gorica. He later moved to NK Primorje and 17 years for ND Gorica. In the second season, he scored 27 goals for his team in the Slovenska Nogometna league. In 2006 he moved to FC Sochaux- Montbéliard in the French Ligue 1 After several lending arrangements with AJ Auxerre, he moved in 2009 to 1.5 million euros to Auxerre.

End of August 2013 changed Birsa to AC Milan. In return, Luca Antonini moved to Genoa.

Birsa also plays for the Slovenian national team, and was 18 years of hitherto youngest Slovenian national team.
