Valtos, Evros

Valtos (Greek Βάλτος ( m. sg. ) Valtɔs, swamp ') is a village in the municipality of the town of Orestiada Orestiada in the Greek region of Macedonia and Thrace.

Valtos was founded in 1923 by refugees from the villages ostthrakischen Mesochori, Kouleli and Krasochori.

The village is located about 17 kilometers west of Orestiada near the Greek -Turkish- Bulgarian border triangle. Valtos has a church of the holy Constantine and Helena and an old school that is already closed. On 21 May each year, the feast day of Saint Helena and Constantine is celebrated there.
