Van der Valk (TV series)

Van der Valk is a British television detective series from the years 1972 to 1977 and again 1991/1992.

The series is designed freely according to the Van der Valk detective novels by Nicolas Freeling. However, the TV series follows with Barry Foster in the title role of Dutch commissioner neither the storylines of the novels, nor is the figure described in the books of Van der Valks justice.

The series ran from 1976 in the GDR Television or ZDF in 1979, where she was on East German television successful.

Very famous is also the theme song of the series: Eye Level, played by Simon Park Orchestra in 1973 was even a number -one hit in the UK.
