Van Nuys, Los Angeles
Van Nuys (pronounced [ vænnaɪz ] ) is a district of Los Angeles, California in the heart of San Fernando Valley. This district was named after its founder, the entrepreneur Isaac Newton Van Nuys.
Van Nuys is populated largely by Latinos. Nearby is the Sepulveda Dam, a dam that protects against flooding during heavy rainfalls and surrounded by extensive green spaces. These serve as a recreational area and have a Japanese tea garden.
The Van Nuys Airport is only used by general aviation. However, in the field of general aviation, it is the airport with the largest number of aircraft movements.
