Vance McAllister

Vance McAllister ( born January 7, 1974 in Oak Grove, West Carroll Parish, Louisiana) is an American politician of the Republican Party. Since 16 November 2013, representing the state of Louisiana in the U.S. House of Representatives in the 5th District of Louisiana. He succeeded Rodney Alexander.

McAllister served after his high school years from 1992 to 1994 in the United States Army as a medic. He later moved to Louisiana National Guard. The study at the University of Louisiana at Monroe, he broke off. McAllister operates numerous companies in different business fields.

His election to the U.S. House of Representatives after former member Rodney Alexander had retired was surprising. He sat down not only in the party open primary on October 19, 2013 against the Democrats by Jamie Mayo, but also later in the runoff election against the much more experienced Republican State Senator Neil Riser. In November 2013 McAllister was taken the oath. Since then, he has been a member of the House of Representatives and the Committees on Agriculture and Natural Resources. He is considered a moderate conservative.

Family

McAllister is married to Kelly Duncan since 1997. The couple has an adopted daughter and four biological children.
