Vancouver International Jazz Festival

The Vancouver International Jazz Festival is a music festival held in the Canadian city of Vancouver, which takes place every year in late June for ten days.

The festival was born out of the local jazz scene, which had been formed in the early 1980s to the radio station CFRO - FM. 1984 saw the establishment of the Pacific Jazz and Blues Association, organized a first Festival of Jazz and Blues. For the organization, the Coastal Jazz and Blues Society developed, could attract the sponsors and a partnership with the Expo 86 was received.
