Vanessa Amorosi

Vanessa Amorosi ( born August 8, 1981 in Melbourne, Victoria) is an Australian singer- songwriter.

Life and career

Supported by her parents, who are both professional singers, Vanessa Amorosi began at the age of four years with jazz and classical ballet. The age of twelve she had first small appearances in shopping malls and restaurants. In a Russian restaurant Jack electricity became aware of her when she sang. Together with his partner Mark Holden he took them under contract ( MARJAC Productions ).

In July 1999, Amorosi released her first single in Australia Have A Look, which went gold in just a few weeks. End of the year was followed with Absolutely Everybody, the second single from the album The Power later success. This song became one of the most successful pieces of Australian artists. After their debut album was released in the spring of 2000, it reached in just three weeks already platinum ( four times) and was almost sold 70,000 times. Their third single, Shine received in a short time gold and platinum. This was followed by an Australian tour with Savage Garden, several awards and invitation at the Summer Olympic Games 2000 in Sydney during the opening and closing ceremonies perform in front of an audience of billions.

In September 2000, Amorosi brought their first single in Europe market. With Absolutely Everybody she reached the top ten in the charts of many countries. Their album The Power reached gold in Germany, and she received the 2001, awarded by the music channel VIVA Awards, Comet Best International Newcomer. Their first tour of Europe and Southeast Asia was also a great success. In 2001, she brought in her home her second album Turn To Me on the market, the tying in seamlessly on the success of its predecessor. In Germany came with change out an alternative album. With the singles One Thing Leads To Another True To Yourself and it was still successful, but the sales figures for the first hit did not reach them. Nevertheless, they remained in Australia Star: Because of their lasting for years commitment to disadvantaged children it was proposed in 2003 for the Australian - Of-The -Year- Award. A year later, she received her first television role as a jury member in an Australian talent show. In Europe they only were isolated concerts and TV appearances. In Australia, published 24 May 2008 their fourth album Somewhere In The Real World. On 4 May 2009 the single The Letter, which she recorded a duet with the U.S. band Hoobastank appeared.
