Vang Evangelical Lutheran Church

The Vang Lutheran Church is a Lutheran church in the village of Manfred in Wells County in the U.S. state of North Dakota. She is the only surviving pioneer church in Manfred.

History

The Vang Lutheran Church is one of a number of preserved pioneer churches of that name on the Great Plains, which were built by Norwegian Lutheran immigrants. In Manfred, the Lutheran church was constituted in 1896, which initially took advantage of private houses. 1904 could be started with the construction of the church, whose consecration took place in 1906. In 1918 the church was one block further transferred onto a newly constructed basement with community rooms. 1945 decided the church, even those hold worship services in addition to Norwegian English.

The church belongs to the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Since 2001, the church is under Demkmalschutz in the U.S. National Register of Historic Places under the number 01,000,674th through Preservation North Dakota, a building was renovated in 2002 supported.
