Vanilla Sky (Band)

Vanilla Sky is an Italian, founded in 2002 Poppunk band from Rome.

History

Vanilla Sky was founded in 2002 by four friends in Rome who had previously been active already in other bands. After their EP " Play it if you can not say it " were self-distributed and sold extremely well all pressings sold out after 2 months, the band was taken in January 2003 by Wynona Records. The first releases were split CDs with other Italian bands. 2003, recorded within 2 months in Rome and Pisa album "Waiting for Something" was released and the band toured six weeks through Europe. The album sold within the first three months after publication of more than 13,000 times in Italy, Germany and especially Japan. In the following years they played in Europe and Japan as the opening act known bands such as Maxeen, Yellowcard, Coheed and Cambria, The Offspring, My Chemical Romance and Good Charlotte. On 27 May 2005, the debut album was finally released via Capitol Records in the U.S., what the sales figures could quickly rise to over 25,000. The re-released EP sold over 5,000 times. In the spring of 2006, Vanilla Sky went into the studio to record a new album. All songs recorded were destroyed shortly after the receiving end, so the band had to record everything again.

2007 Vanilla Sky signed a contract with Universal Music, on 22 June released their album " Changes" and in the autumn of the same year surprised the band with a published as a single cover version of the song Umbrella by Rihanna.
