Vanis Kvabebi

Wanis Kwabebi ( Wanis Cave ) is a cave monastery in südgeorgischen Bergland Samtskhe - Javakheti province near Aspindza and the more famous cave city Vardzia. The complex was built in the 8th century and consists of a protective barrier from the year 1204 and a labyrinth of tunnels, which runs on many levels in the side of the mountain.

The complex also houses two churches. A younger stone church in good condition at the end of the wall, and a smaller, domed church nestles at the level of the highest tunnel in the rock.
