Vápenice (Uherské Hradiště District)

Vápenice ( German Kalkhütten ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located ten kilometers south of Bojkovice and belongs to Okres Uherské Hradiště.

Geography

The scattered settlement Vápenice is located on the crest of the White Carpathians protected landscape territory PLA White Carpathians. The village is situated in the valley of the brook Krátkovský creek and its tributaries Trstná and Hrnčarův creek. To the north, the Šiškové ( 586 m) and Ripové rise (602 m), in the northeast of Lokov ( 738 m) and Žítkovský vrch ( 669 m ) east Skalka and Kykula (602 m), in the southeastern Žár ( 598 m), south of the Fráňovec, Príslop (710 m), Rapantův vrch and Tomkův vrch ( 794 m) in the southwest of Mikulčin vrch ( 798 m) and Vysoký vrch ( 698 m ) and northwest of the Bučník (552 m).

Neighboring towns are Hadůvky and Bzová in the north, Rokytova, Dolany and Žítková in the northeast, Stary Hrozenkov in the east, Dolina in the southeast, Šagátky, Vyškovec and Bartoňové in the south, Paseky Uhliska and Troják the southwest, Bystřice pod Lopeníkem in the west and Novy Dvur and Komňa in the northwest.

History

The belonging to Hrozinkov settlement of Kopanitscharen originated before 1740. The Homesteads were doing without village structure favorable locations. Main source of income of the inhabitants were the lime kiln and logging, continue grazing and livestock and crop production. Until the mid- 19th century, the settlement of the rule Světlov was submissive.

After the replacement of patrimonial Vápenice / Kalkhütten formed in 1850 a settlement of the municipality Hrozinkov in the District Commission Uherský Brod. At the end of the 19th century Vápenice consisted of 59 thatched -hewn wooden houses and had 369 inhabitants. On June 5, 1919 Vápenice broke loose from Stary Hrozenkov and formed its own community. After the abolition of Okres Uherský Brod Vápenice came to the end of 1960 Okres Uherské Hradiště. Between 1980 and 1991 Vápenice was incorporated again after Stary Hrozenkov.

In the 20th century Vápenice became a resort. Among the guests, among others belonged Jiří Mahen and Jarmila Urbánková. The People's narrator Josef Lebánek lived for a time in Vápenice. In Mikulčin a ski area was built with several slopes and lifts.

Vápenice today consists of 65 houses and about 60 holiday homes and cottages. The old school, which was later used as a cultural center is today the seat of the company Gorstring that manufactures strings for musical instruments. Since 2009 Vápenice leads a coat of arms and banners.

For the community Vápenice no districts are reported. The municipality consists of the settlements Mikulčin vrch, Paseky Šagátky and Vápenice.
