Vapniarka

Wapnjarka (Ukrainian and Russian Вапнярка ) is an urban-type settlement in the Vinnytsia Oblast. The town's name derives from the northwest village Wapnjarky ( Вапнярки ).

The town was founded during the construction of the railway from Schmerynka after Kotowsk the late 1860s, he officially existed since the opening of a railway station on the railway line today Krasne -Odessa, since 1938, he has the status of an urban-type settlement.

During World War II the town was incorporated into Romania, which has now become Greater Romania built the place a large concentration camp
